I have just posted a new photo essay about the Luberon. The link is set to the first photo in the album, and then you can move through as a "slide show" or select "next image" to go at your own pace.
We leave one week from today. Especially after working on this album, I can't wait to be back. And I'll definitely be taking more photos.
Wonderful pictures, Kathy, and so evocatively arranged and displayed. It brought back beautiful memories for me, too, of our visit to the Luberon in 2002, and got me even more excited about our coming trip to Languedoc.
Thanks for the BEAUTIFUL PICTURES. I am so excited now. We leave in 8 days. You have taken some really professional pictures. With all of your help and these pictures, I almost feel like I have been there. We are so excited. Kathy I will email you info about the 28th in Gordes.
Thanks, Sandy

Fabulous, Kathy! This brought tears to my eyes. You have some beautiful shots, and even better is your artful arrangement of them. I assume you'll be taking some more next week!
I'm so glad all of you enjoyed the photo essay... I will swap out a couple of photos during our trips back to the Luberon this year... hopefully we can get a few "lavender" pictures in July!
Sandy, looking forward to seeing you in Gordes in TWO WEEKS! (Sandra, should we pick you up a straw handbag?)
Your photos are beautiful. I can't wait for my upcoming trip to the Luberon this April - I'm so glad that I chose this area of France to explore - your pictures help confirm that.
Kathy Wonderful photos!!! How can I wait till the end of September when we will be going. Please take lots of new pictures on your trip and post them. By the way the pictures of the primulas you took in the markets inspired me to paint them on a bowl I made... it looks stunning, so thank you!

Many of the sites & locations evoke warm memories, but there are many places to discover when we return. We were only a few minutes from Oppède-le-Vieux - passed by the road sign at least a couple of times each day - but never made it.
We had hoped to return to Provence this September, but it looks like we're going to have to wait until 2007. Our oldest daughter is getting married in July. The wedding date doesn't conflict with our original travel plans, but our travel budget has disappeared.
Say "Hi" to Kevin from the ebayer from Canada if/when you see him this visit.
Beautiful photos, Kaydee! I was curious about your day trips from Paris. You mentioned going to Provence? I'm interested because I'm not sure I can tear the other members of my family away from Paris, (we'll be there for 8-12 day at the end of May)but perhaps they'd agree to a day trip. Giverny looks lovely. Any other day trips to recommend? Languedoc interests me, but it doesn't seem like a a day trip.
I'm really glad everyone is enjoying the Luberon photos. (Charley told me that he's looked at them several times!)
Doug, we have tentative plans to see Kevin and Elisabeth for lunch the first week we're there, and we'll pass along your greetings. And I totally understand about new places to discover. We were there six+ months, and still have a list of new experiences... some of which we'll try to do in our upcoming two weeks.
Lindy, we did a day trip from Paris to Provence for a very specific administrative reason. It's certainly do-able with the TGV trip to Avignon only 2-1/2 to 3 hours, but it's a very long day. Unless you just want to see Avignon, you need access to a car (a rental or a driver) to see the beautiful countryside. Maybe it would be possible for you to take one night away from your group while they are in Paris? That would make the idea more palatable and give you a taste of Provence. You will want to return.
Here are some older threads on possible day trips from Paris: here, here, here, and here. (You might want to start another thread to discuss this further.)
Wow! Your photo essay is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your experience---it gives us a taste of what we'll be experiencing on our trip to the Luberon this summer.
Hi Kathy, Let me add my thank-you for the wonderful photos. I am hoping to see some of these same sights in just about 90 days. I was pleased to see the lavendar photo that you took in Saignon. Our trip to the Luberon will take place in mid/late June -- not prime lavendar season, but I'll hope for a bit of color. Carole
