Okay, I know we have been home from our long trip for eight months now... but I've actually just finished posting the last part of my blog -- the story of our 100 mile Alpine Pass walk in Switzerland. Perhaps I procrastinated on this because I didn't want to admit that our "Grand Tour" was really over.

This was our family's fourth long-distance walking trip and does include a few dramatic moments. For those of you who enjoy reading about our family's adventures on these long distance hiking trips, here you go!

Week One of the Alpine Pass Walk (Engelberg to Kandersteg)

Week Two of the Alpine Pass Walk and the end of our 14-month Grand Tour of Europe (Kandersteg to Geneva, then home to Knoxville)

Our Alpine Pass photo album (set to the first photo)

I have enjoyed re-living the whole experience just while working on this project. We enjoyed the absolutely stupendous mountain scenery, the physical exercise (more demanding than anything we've experienced before), the mountain inns and wonderful Swiss food, the friends we made along the way, and the family time together. It was the perfect way to end our 14 months in Europe.
