The message board is one month old today - hard to believe it is only a month!
The old version of the message board had been up since January and got a fair amount of traffic - but we have seen an increase with this new board.
As of today, we have 88 registered members. That doesn't include our lurkers (hi guys!!). The message board has had over 13,000 page views since July 1st - I think that counts every page you look at which might be many pages if you are reading a few threads - so it doesn't indicate the number of unique visitors to the message board, but it does show that we are getting a lot of traffic.
David from NY is such a great contributor to the board that we gave him is own forum - Italian Language Talk - and made him co-moderator with me on the Italy forum. If anyone out there is interested in moderating any of the other forums or starting a new forum, just let me know. pauline@cohenkenny.com
Steve and I are very pleased that we made the switch to this new board. I still want to learn more about PERL programming so I can customize the look of the board even more - maybe a nice winter project for me. We had a few burps with the board at first when we lost posts if people forgot to login - so I changed it so you have to login to post. I didn't want to do this, but in the end it may be a good thing - it feels like more of a community when you know who is posting.
If anyone is lurking and is nervous about posting - don't be!! We all love to hear from everyone. Steve and I are certainly not travel experts, probably not many of us on this board are, but together we can share our experiences and learn from each other.
