We are getting married in Rome in a couple of weeks and are looking for a family friendly restaurant for a rehearsal dinner for 13 adults and 4 children. Something in the Navona, Pantheon, or Trevi area would be great.

Any suggestions?

Can you give us some idea of your "family friendly" budget for the rehearsal dinner? There are a lot of restaurants in that territory. Are you looking for somewhere with a private room?

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

To add on to Jim's question, what about ambiance? Hushed and formal, jovial and casual, or something in between? How old are the children?

Thank you for your responses. Great questions!

A private room would be preferable with an upbeat and friendly atmosphere. The children's ages are 7, 3, 2, and 1. We definitely do not need somewhere really formal. We would like someplace with a bit of character. This is the 1st time a number of our guests will be visiting Italy.

We would like something moderately priced, but we are not sure what that price should be. We thought around $30-40/person. Is that reasonable?

Thanks for your help.

We had Easter lunch last year at Le Volte, on Piazza Rondanini, about a block from the Pantheon. It has several rooms, was full of families, and the food was excellent. The staff was very attentive and doted on my two little girls. It would be within your budget.

I think that L'Orso 80 on Via del Orso (North of Navona) is perfect for a large family dinner. I have eaten there on numerous occasions with groups of 10-16. It will run a little cheaper then your range. About 16-22 a person depending on wine, dessert, etc. The House Special is the best (mixed apetiser)!

Hosteria del'Orso gets my vote too.. only order the appetizer.. and they fill your table with about 10 different things..hige plates..
then if you have room, perhaps some pasta..
get the kids pasta with butter and cheese..
