Hi everyone,

I understand Monday, November 1st is a holiday in Italy. We are picking up our rental car in Rome and driving to Pienza on Saturday October 30th. Will we have trouble getting groceries etc. on the Saturday of a holiday weekend?

No, you won't, because, since the shops will be then closed for two days, they will certainly be open on the 30th. Definitely, supermarkets will.
