joke? huf tough one to be civil in the courthouse..... Early on in France, went to help an recently arrived American couple from California on the purchase of their apartment in Paris. We had met in one of the many expats hangouts where English is the norm if not the rule. We decided to meet at one of the American associations in paris main office for ease of location for the 3 of us. The address was at ave de New York just over from Eiffel Tower along the Seine;easy i knew being there no problem. well i get off at metro alma manceau and star walking to the place we agree upon at ave new york as i like to walk Paris and do not mind getting off before a place so i can walk and see the city better. once arrive at the ave along the Seine look up the building and the number and say got it: walk in no sight of anything unusual ask the gardien for the association americaine and told me 2éme a gauche (which is really 3rd floor to your left) went up heard a voice from a female in what is easily American english knock on the door and door open wide open! good grief she was awesome to say the least snapping on the cellular phone with a friend in English not realizing i was there; i was having a good time looking; finally she says hello can i help you? i say you can help me alright; she got scare a man stranger at the door with my macho talk and was about to slam the door on me: immediately told her do not worry i am just looking for some friend at an american association and realized her apt was not it. she never heard of the association and it turn out we are all members: she was married me too no game just friends and i eventually caught up with my couple waiting and could not believe the story until we all met at a local meeting in paris again!!!
