This is just the cutest series of commercials in Italian for Parmigiano Reggiano. I have to caution - the tune is very catchy. You'll find yourself humming it. (note: feel free to move if it is more appropriate in the Video forum. :)

OMG, you absolutely made my day! Smile

I spent a lot of time in Italy over the past six months and cannot get that tune out of my head! I came home and told all my friends about my favorite commercial with the dancing cheese and they all thought I was crazy. Now I can email them the video (and they can join me in a round of Pa pa pa pa parmigiano...).

Thank you!!!

Marta,

Thanks for posting a link to this funny video. I LOVE the veggie costumes. And did I spot a white & black spotted cow on the sidelines?! I want to be the swingin' bowtie pasta--that looks like such fun!

I'm going to send a link to la mia professoressa d'italiano. She grew up in the Florence area, but lives here in Virginia now so she probably would enjoy it too!

Marta, those are hilarious! I especially loved the Christmas version and the ridiculous little red bows.

But now I can't get the tune out of my head.....and I have this intense craving for cheese......

Happy I found it impressive that there were so many videos submitted by teeenagers who were "lip-synching" to the sound track of the commercial.

This is my favorite commercial. Every time it comes on I have to sing along (with the dog who loves it too). I drive my hubby crazy with it. The best part is that recently he has heard two people's cell phone ring tones that are the clipped from the commercial.

The thing I like best about it is that it is a real commercial. You see it, you know it is about parmigiano, you get infected by the tune so when you shop and you get to the dairy section you think of it. Not like the commercials with half naked men or women selling something that you can never remember because you are concentrating on the person not the product.

The parm commercial reminds me of the old Oscar Meyer commercials (my boloney has a first name), the alka selzer ad (plop plop fizz fizz), etc. Brilliant advertising!

I'm going to have to memorize this song before I visit the relatives this summer! I think they would crack up listening to Americans sing it!

Thanks for this video! I wonder if anyone knows where I can find the lyrics? My youngest son is learning Italian and can't quite get all the words. I have tried Googling with no luck.

Thanks

Marta,

Thanks so much for posting this great commercial! I have played it numerous times, and every time I notice something new. The tune is very catchy. I've sent it to my friends in Italian class and to our teacher who is from Sicily. She loved it too.

Another fun commercial (not near as good as this one) was for a car. George Clooney (YUM) is sitting behind the steering wheel. At the end there is a caveat "George Clooney does not come with the car."

Ok, this has become a new "mini-addiction". I watch it every day (and sing), and have shown it to everyone who comes to my house! I need it on the BIG screen! Is it currently on TV in Italy?

Can anyone direct us to a website where we could download these ring tones?? Thanks!

I LOVE this commercial!

(BTW, if you go to www.YouTube.com and search on "Parmigiano" you will also find a video on "The Making of . . ." the commercials.
