I made 3 videos for the SlowTrav GTG that Janet Zinn hosted this summer in Italy. The GTG was at Villa Rosy ( www.sanpotente.it ), owned by Corinna and her family. They catered the lunch for us.
It was a very hot day - probably around 100 degrees. The bottles of wine sitting on the table (out of the sun) got hot!
As you will see watching the video, I am still not used to the video camera. I just walked around and filmed, then I started talking to people. I managed to talk over people several times (sorry!!) and cut them off in mid-sentence. I put it together with just a little bit of editing. I took out two longer bits - one that I already posted of Rebecca, another talking to Letizia, Judith and Giulia.
Letizia looked very stylish, her dress was chic and also weather appropriate. I loved Judith's bracelet, and Guilia's lovely pink top, but who was the hot guy in the white shirt in the background?

oh, Ginger, thank you so much! Unfortunately I cannot watch the video on dial up connection but I am proud that my beach style attire looked OK, since I have lost a few Kg recently I can even buy new clothes !!!!
(PS. could not before as all clothes are too small in Italy!)
I don't live in a desert! I live in the mountains with high temps for a few weeks in summer only (but no humidity). Believe me, I felt that heat, but no one can see because I was behind the camera.
The "hot guy in the white shirt" is Corinna's husband!!! A very nice guy! And they have two beautiful girls. You can see him introduced at 2 min 25 seconds - when I stop the general filming and start introducing people.
I wish the film quality were better. I have to compress the video (using Windows Movie Maker that comes free with Windows) because you cannot upload large file sizes to YouTube. I make a large file version to play on my computer and the quality is very good.
Hey Janet, we have a spare bedroom...come back anytime!!!! BTW, did you find any sunflowers that hadn't wilted under the intense heat? (note: the weather had been near perfect BEFORE the ST group arrived. They brought temps over 100+º!)

Thanks Barb, that's a mighty tempting offer Alas no Italy trips planned at the moment, but my mind is always scheming for a way!
And no sunflowers, nope I never got any good shots. Yours reign supreme. BTW I am still working, slowly but surely, on my photos from the trip...hopefully I'll finish this month
