In March I had the pleasure of flying with Emirates Airlines from London to Bangkok and part of the trip was on the new Airbus A380. Here is a video showing a bit of the experience.

Wow, pretty cool Gard! I see the A380 is a double decker, which deck were you on? Looked like a nice lounge and flight. That tail cam is great! Is it on the entire flight or just during take off and landing?

Yes, that was fun. I do like the tail cams on the Airbus lines. I was surprised but yet not surprised to see how slowly it seemed to gain altitude on take off.

Hi

Yes, this is the double deck plane that has been delivered to Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Emirates Airlines. I think Emirates has placed an order for about 58 of them! Emirates even have two showers onboard for the first class passengers Big Grin I was in business class and I was on the upper deck. In the back there was a small bar where you could get drinks (for free of course) and we had an amazing selection of TV channels and movies to choose from. The tail cam and down cam can be chosen at all times but in mid flight you don't really see anything. If you want more details you can check out this trip report with lots of photos that I posted here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum...ass-lhr-dxb-bkk.html . It is a forum for people that are into planes and flying Happy

In his junior year of college, my son spent a semester in Australia. On the way back, he made a side-stop to Thailand, and flew with Emirates. He rode coach, and said it was the best plane he'd ever been on. (at that point in his life he'd flown over a dozen times).

I'm really impressed with that video, Gard.

Hi

Yes, I was pretty impressed with Emirates Airlines. When you are in business class you do of course get a bit better food and treatment but what impressed me the most was the on board entertainment system. First of all I had my own 17" screen with a crystal clear picture...and an amazing selection of movies, TV shows and games to choose from. When flying SAS business class I have only had a tiny little screen. Anyway, it seemed like the economy class passengers also had the same entertainment system but smaller screens. The A380 does allow for some cool new features...like the small cabins for first class passengers, showers for first class, the bar area in the back of the place etc. I would love to also try to fly with the Singapore Airlines A380...preferably on business class of course Wink
