This is a great idea for a new forum. My husband did a little video during our trip last month. It was done with a cell phone cam so he added some shaky-cam special effects (since the camera quality was poor) and some music to the natural sound . It's not Fellini but it's fun.

Thanks Pauline for embedding the video. I tried but couldn't figure it out.

The scene in the apartment in front of the fire is in our agriturismo in Tuscany. We were drinking "how low can you go" 49 cent box wine that we bought at the PAM grocery store. In the scene in front of the scaffolded Bernini fountain in the Piazza Navona I look mad because I was telling my husband to "stop already with the x#$x%&*f%$# camera" and go buy me some gelato Smile

Great last shot. I really liked the second piece of music, the "fiddle" sounded lovely. What was it?

We love that music also. Our friends heard a group of street musicians in Florence and gave us this CD. The group is called Pizzarelli-Peplowski Sextet and the CD is Italian Intermezzo. All of the music on the CD is great!

If I may ask, what program did your husband use to edit all those clips together and add those effects (music, text)?

My husband is a professional video editor. He uses Final Cut Pro (plus various plug-ins, etc. for all the special effects).

Ahhhhh, okay then. Darn...

I was really hoping he was just a regular Joe like myself and had access to some wonderful and cheap program. FCP is just slightly out of my budget. Smile

I am still struggling to learn Windows Movie Maker (at least it is free and you can get started easy). Maybe someday I can "graduate" to better software!!

I'm a total amateur as well. I tried to make a "this is your life" sort of video surprise for my husband's 50th birthday last year. I spent hours (days/weeks!) scanning photos of him from birth to 50. Then I played around with iMovie (we are a Mac only household). It wasn't very good but I learned a lot and it was fun. But I've told him he will have to transfer the photos to his computer and make his own movie since he knows what he's doing.
