For a question on an online art history course:

“There is no better instance of how a burst of civilization depends on confidence than the _________ state of mind in the early fifteenth century.”

Correct answer is 'Florentine, (yes, I know, but it's my husband's course!) but what's the 'Paris' option answer? It's a multiple choice deal and Roman, Florentine, Milanese (he had Milan) and Paris. Parisienne? I'm stuck?

Thanks!!

Cheers,
Alecto

Parisian? (this might apply to the Parisian belle epoque, btw, but hardly Paris in the early 15th century)

Yes - Parisian - as far as the correct form of the word. (Pronounced pah-REE-zhan)

In America, David. In the UK, it would be Par-IZ-ian. But that's a different thread.....

Of course, Patrick. Forgive me for being so USA-centric. Smile
