Somewhere in the south isn't there a village named Condom? There is of course the Lot village called Montcuq, which many French people pronounce with a silent q, which changes the meaning to "my a*s". Not long ago Monopoly France (the game) called upon the French to vote on the internet for an equally opulent but hipper region to replace the opulent rue de la Paix (i guess rue de la Paix is the French Monopoly's equivalent of Park Avenue), in an effort to update the French Monopoly game. I imagine an organized practical joke started, putting Montcuq on the top of the list. Imagine all the ensuing tasteful puns. Here's the story in French: Montcuq = France's Park Avenue?

I have to chime in to cite the lovely little town of Condom, in the southwest of France (gers). The river that flows thru Condom is the Baïse, which because of the ï supposed to be pronounced "Baheese" sort of, but for fun, french folks will say Baise, which translates to the f. word, as you may know. So, Condom on Baïse. http://www.chez.com/gascogne/gascogne/hrml/condom.html
