We bought a little chatchke for our granddaughter in France -- a ruler with a description (in French of course) about her name: Clara. I can translate most of it, but there is one term I'm not sure about. It describes a "Clara" as possessing "la vivacité, l'intelligence, et le sens des contacts." I think "sens des contacts" must have some idiomatic meaning that I don't fully understand, so I wonder what would be a good translation.

I would translate it as "a way with people", or "a way of reaching people", or being "a people person".

Or "people skills".
