If you followed my thread about Time to Satellites, this is the outcome. After working with Garmin to down load the chipset and software, our 770 was still unacceptably slow in locking into satellites. We just now called them to let them know. They are overnighting a new one to us. We will send back the one we have now.

There was no hassle or problem. Once the tech rep. realized that ours had been thoroughly updated, he agreed that it was sick and said he would have a new one sent. We didn't need to bring that possibility up to him.

It is nice to do business with a company such as this.

Yay! It is good to hear that there are still some companies that a) make sure you can talk to a human being and b) trust their customers.

Jane,
I'm so glad to hear this. I just received my new Garmin 670 and am confident that Garmin will come through if I have any problems!

Thanks for the thread of your problems
Kathy

Update: The new Garmin works like a charm--perfectly. Picks up satellites in seconds. Moral: If something doesn't seem right, it isn't. There is a world of difference between this one and the sick one.

That is wonderful news Jane. Both a solution and a great customer experience. Thumbs up for Garmin.
