I'd like to hide my IP so that other sites don't know I'm in Italy....so that I can watch U.S. TV shows on the web. Does anyone have any recommendations...or warnings? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it but there are a lot of tips on how to do it by looking up how to access Pandora outside the US. Pandora is an internet radio service that blocks access outside the US because of royalty costs. They shut down access last year in May and there was quite a few people upset.

Here is one post that gives the options. The best option is to use a web proxy site such as the one suggested in this article.

But beyond what I've read on those articles, I don't know how well it works.

Barb, I used the advice received on the Expats site, and downloaded Hotspot. It if free to download and only took a few minutes and has worked brilliantly!

Thanks for the update, alaskaitaly! I'm always sooo hesitant to put anything new on my computer, especially since the 'restore' feature doesn't seem to work anymore! I guess with the new fall season of TV shows starting soon, I'll go ahead and donwload Hotspot.
