I used my laptop at a starbucks when I went to use it later the wan was turned off. Followed instructions but the turn wan on was greyed out so I could not get it going. Long story short a fellow at the airport said it is a snap placed it on his lap and did something but I could not see all of what he did and he was off while I was still thanking him.All I caught was he clicked on start programs but missed the rest.So................should this happen to me again how do you get wan back on, can some experienced person tell me. Never had this happen before. Thanks

Is this regarding your wi-fi connection on a PC? Or is this something different?

I'm not a regular user of wi-fi but I'm wondering if all you need to do is enable the wi-fi. This web page shows you how to enable and disable wi-fi.

I got a Sony Vaio awhile back and was trying to get the wi-fi to work. After making several trips to Starbucks and reading the Sony Help, I learned that if your laptop has both wi-fi and wan, only one can be enabled at a time.

It would help to know what type of laptop you have, Joanne, PC or Mac.
