I don't know what happened to it. Now at the top of the window is a line showing me where I am: i.e. Computer>Local Disk (C: )>Program Files . . . blah blah blah.

I KNOW where I am. I don't need a line telling me. I need to get my menu bar back with "File - Edit - View - Favorites - Tools - Help".

I went into Help and it had a gajillion options but none that seemed to be what I wanted.

Confused Confused Confused

Abort! Abort! I found it. Then I boogered it up so I couldn't find my C: drive. Then I clicked on "Folder" and it showed up again.

I don't suppose the "click, click, click, click" method is the most scientific, but when it works -- Confused

Are you using IE version 7? That's what I have and here's what works for me...I think it might work on version 6 also.

Open up a web page, say "google" for instance.

Put the cursor in the "bar" where it shows what web pages are open and where some tool icons appear on the right hand side.

Right click in this area. (this is not the area where the url "http://www.xxxxxx.com/" shows, but below that.)

You will see a drop down menu that has a number of choices. Mine shows:

Menu bar
Links
Status
Google
_________
Lock the toolbars
Use Large Icons
Customize command bar

Click on Menu bar... I can turn mine on and off that way.

Hope this works for you.

Glad you found it.... You can tell that I thought you were asking about Internet Explorer and not Window Explorer.

Thanks, Bill. I hate, hate, hate Windows Explorer. I have used PowerDesk for years, but it is not compatible with Vista. When they catch up, I will go back in a flash!
