Recently I have read about this little camcorder and really wanted to buy it but they do not sell in in continental Europe. When I tried to get it off Amazon UK site all of the retailers refused to send it to me in France.

HAs anyone used this?

What do you really think about it?

I don't know anything firsthand about it, but it got a very good review in Walt Mossberg's column today. Actually, the review was by his assistant Katie.

Thanks Roz, that is the most informative article that I have read yet. The only thing that makes me hesitate is that I would really like to have a fast motion filming capability. The fact of the usuer friendly reveiws make me think that it is the camcorder for me.

Here is another article on the Flip MINO HD from New York Times. It includes a video that he recorded on a trip. They have just released the HD version of the camera. There is also a previous version that came out about a year or so ago that was not HD. I remember seeing it at Costco. Here is NY Times review from last year.

I bought one of these a couple weeks ago to use for filming cooking how-to clips for the food site I write for, and to film segments in Quebec for a travel site I'm writing for.
I've been playing with it a little. It's definitely only YouTube quality but it's very easy to use and *so* tiny. I don't think I'll ever use my regular MiniDV video camera again (the one I thought was so small a couple years ago!)

Dana, which one did you buy - regular or HD, and where did you buy it? I'm thinking about looking for one when we're in Louisville next month.

I just saw those camcorders for sale at Costco. I think they were about $150. I haven't priced them elsewhere, so don't know how that compares.
