I am struggling with this a little. I have read this document, several times, but still have some questions.

I will be visiting London for one day, then Croatia for a week, in June. I will need to notify my first rental in Croatia from London, for confirmation. And while in Croatia, will need to notify my rentals a day in advance.

So, not a lot of phone calls. My US cell phone has GSM quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 mHz) frequency. (Palm Treo 680). I am interested in purchasing this Mobal SIM card, which is advertised as free but will cost $10 S & H.

Questions:

1)Does this sound like the real deal, as advertised? Does anyone have any experience using it? Like I said above, I will not be making many calls at all, so I believe it to be the most economical choice.

2)I will need to find out if my phone is unlocked, and if not, get it unlocked. Are there then any hidden roaming fees that I should expect if using the Mobal SIM card? (perhaps this is a question for my cell phone company, ATT/Cingular?)

3)Does this information and also this sound like I would not have any difficulty getting reception in Croatia?

Thanks in advance to all the experts!

In light of the limited calls it might be cheaper to pay AT&T's roaming fees. Even if it was $2 a minute you'd get five minutes for just the price of the SIM. It wouldn't suprise me if it was less then $2 a minute.

That makes sense, Nick. I'm going to check this week with my ATT/Cingular rep to just confirm this. Thanks so much.
