Roz asked me to report on how my I-touch worked for e-mail in Sicily. It did not, or anyway I couldn't get it to work. Usually it works in the US, occasionally I have had difficulties even at home sitting in front of my wireless router. I know the software for the I-touch has been changed a few times. Also, I got mine when they just came out and had no clue what to do. I would try it again but would talk to someone at Apple tech support (a supervisor) to find out what I needed to do. Sorry for slowness in reporting back.
That's disappointing to hear re I-touch in Sicily. For what it's worth, I just returned from a month in Lucca, Italy and my I-Touch wi-fi worked beautifully both in the apartment I stayed in and at the school. It even worked better than my laptop sometimes which would occasionally lose the wi-fi connection forcing me to restart in order to establish the connection again. The I-Touch remembered the connections for both places and was fast and consistent.
