I am Brazilian, 54, and have just returned from a 4-month trip of Europe. For this I bought a motorhome, which is presently in storage in Utrecht, Netherlands. In March 2009 I intend to return to Europe for another extended trip. I came upon this forum by indication from another member, Karen, and it seems to me it will be a great resource for hints and general information. Additionally, should anyone be willing to visit Brazil, I will be glad to help in any way I can.

Welcome, Pedro! Your long trip sounds wonderful!

I visited Brazil in March this year and I thought it was absolutely wonderful. A beautiful country with so much to offer.

Thanks, Doru & Chiocciola. I have been looking around and this is definitely the place I was looking for. I ony wish I had found it before my first trip to Europe.

Chiocciola, I read your blog and I'm glad you enjoyed Brazil. I lived for three years in Angra dos Reis, near Paraty, in a thin strip of beach with the forest and a huge waterfall in the back. It was a wonderful time.

Next time you visit the Green Coast, you should also spend some time at the Ilha Grande. It is the huge island that blocks the entrance to the whole bay, with clear peaceful water on the inland side and open sea on the Atlantic side. And don't forget to visit a beach called Trindade, a place that was originally a refuge for hippies and outcasts from all over the world and, although now a sort of tourist destination, is still beautiful, very peaceful and inhabited by the friendliest people around.
