My wife and I are traveling to Florence, Italy at the end of October with our 7 month old (no, we're not escaped mental patients) and I'm looking foreward to getting some advice from Slow Travel Talk in this regard. I think I understand correctly that the best place to ask specific questions is in the specific country forums. What a great idea this is!

You'll have a wonderful time, especially with a baby! There is nothing like a little bambino/a to win the adoration of every Italian. We've been in restaurants where everything stopped once someone came in with a baby so that they can ooh and ahh over the little one.

There are lots of travelers on this board who will happily give you great tips on travelling with children.
