I was fortunate to go to Italy in 1983, but I was only 18 and didn't get to visit much. My fiance and I are going for our honeymoon in May, 2009.

I'm working on getting the trip setup and hope to learn a lot from everyone here.

Welcome to the board. You will find much of the information which you need in the Italy forum - make active use of the search function or by asking questions. Don't forget to access the Italy planning sections of the main board for invaluable advice!

When planning our first trip to Italy last year I found the various trip reports to be invaluable as well. it was great to read the experiences of other travellers. In some cases I was able to learn from their mistakes and avoid pitfalls. In other cases we were able to plan a portion of the trip that we would never had experienced had it not been for a reference in a trip report.

My advice to you - don't try and do too much! Slowtravel is about slowing down, taking in your surroundings, and getting to experience the world in a more in-depth and real way. It is not rushing to three Tuscan hill towns in a morning, stopping, having a latte, and then heading off to three more! Enjoy!
