Hi everyone. I'm Lisa Ashworth and have been a ST member for about one month. While I haven't formally introduced myself, I have been participating in a few discussion threads and just posted my ST blog, thanks to Kim's help.
I think we need to come up with a name like "foodie" for people like us who can't get enough of traveling and frankly, who know A LOT about traveling. And yes, I'm one of those. I enjoy my job, but truth be told, I work for three reasons, to pay my bills, to have money when I'm older (and not working) and to travel. That's pretty much it, well except for good food and wine. I really love food and wine. The things that I used to enjoy, like shopping for clothes, doesn't interest me. I would much rather, and do, spend my hard-earned money on "experiences."
My boyfriend and I are moving to France for about 8 months next year. You can read all about that on my blog. I've just started it and will be posting our process and preparation on a weekly basis until we leave, then start another while we are there.
I absolutely love Slow Travel and it's community of fellow travelers. I've feel that I've been very warmly welcomed and look forward to contributing as much valuable information as I can in the future.
I've really enjoyed exchanging long e-mails and becoming friends these last couple of months. You and Allen are going to have a wonderful experience in Provence, especially living at La Bastide Vieille.
Welcome to Slow Travel! I'm looking forward to meeting you and Allen at the GTG in Palm Desert. I'm coming a long way, but 25,000 FF miles can get you anywhere! And I'll go anywhere to be with a group of people who love to talk about travel.
This is a wonderful forum, and I know you'll be a great asset.
