What a fabulous website and I've already gotten some great information here! Now it's time to start posting some questions for our upcoming trip.

We are a family of 4 from Texas (2 kids, ages 11 and 8) and we have all travelled extensively in every corner of the globe. Our oldest child was on every continent except Antarctica by the time she was 5! The trips have varied radically from backpacking to first-class travel, and we love the developing world as much as the traditional tourist spots. Our work as academics fortunately gives us lots of flexibility and opportunities to travel.

This past summer we spent three weeks travelling in Korea and Beijing (I'm happy to answer questions, if anyone is interested--Korea is one of my favorite places!). Next summer, we are off to Italy for two months. I'll be spending lots of time in the Italy Slow Travel forums for the foreseeable future!
