Hi all,

How nice to find such an interesting group of like-minded folks.

I'm Kate -- British but a life-long expat growing up in Europe and then arriving in the US at age 17 (military step-father).

I am married to an American (23 years now) and we have lived all over the world and various US states. We have 5 children. The boys were born in Texas, England, Hawaii, United Arab Emirates and then the latest little girl was born where we currently reside; Tennessee.

We love travel but find it wearisome to pack into hotels and multiple taxis etc. So we usually try to stay longer in one main place, renting houses or apartments and then branch off from there.

I see the recent conference for this group was in Savannah. We spent a wonderful few weeks last summer on Tybee Island near there. Lovely rental house -- an older, traditional one filled with "antiques."

Anyway we are getting ready for another longer excursion and in May the whole family is heading to Costa Rica for three months. I have not seen much information about the country on your site so hope to start a blog and perhaps share our experiences a little.

Please let me know if you have any advice or information about Costa Rica.

Thanks and hello to all.

Kate

Kate, welcome to ST from another Tennessee STer. Where in TN are you? I'm in Murfreesboro.

You've already noticed what a wonderfully helpful group of people are on this site. It only gets better when you get to know us! Wink Grin

Hi Earline,

Sorry -- I was away for a few days in NY so am behind. I am in Knoxville so not that far away. We are enjoying the bug-free weather here right now and it's making it hard to leave home next week (not that hardSmile
