Hi, I am Shareen from Queensland Australia. i love travelling and been to many countries and i am just coming back from Europe again after having 3 months vacation. So far my favourite place in this planet is: "Tuscany" and hope to go there in near future again! My next travel plan is going to Canada and i was thinking to visit San Francisco from Vancouver. can anyone please give me tips about BC plus San Francisco? what is the best time to visit BC and the attraction? Regards, Shareen
Welcome to Slow Travel. I just returned from Australia and I loved it. Do you have any recommendations from your three months vacation in Europe? We'd love to hear more about it. Slow Travel is our main website. We encourage everyone to submit reviews of rentals, hotels, restaurants and to do trip reports. Check it out.
I also second Elly's recommendation of posting your specific travel questions in the appropriate travel forum. You can also search the North America forum for other threads on BC and the West Coast. When are you planning on travelling?
Dear Shareen, Good morning; it's nice to meet you on Slow Travel. Although it's only virtual, it's a great place to visit. I have never been to Australia; but it seems to me that Australians are great travelers. When I was young my mother used to repair antique dolls. One of the other doll ladies she corresponded with was from Australia. She sent me a little Noddy book ("Well Done Noddy!"). I don't remember in which part of Australia she lived; but she signed the book the Pinniger Family. The very first time my elderly father and I travelled to Italy, we travelled with a tour. It was spring and we didn't know how cold it could get. On the tour there was a young man from Australia (whose name I can't remember) who had given the trip as a birthday present to his mother and two of her friends. He was very nice; he gave his coat to my father to wear at night when it was cold. This winter my friend's daughter has been accepted by one of the schools in Australia for one of her vet internships. She is very excited for the opportunity to learn about the birds of Australia. So you see I know only good things about the people of Australia. I can't help you with Canada or San Francisco (I've been to each only once). But if you ever visit New Orleans (although there isn't as much to visit anymore), let me know if you need anything. I will gladly treat you to lunch or coffee, as a way of thanking Australia for all of the nice things its people have done for me and my friends. Buon viaggio! Anne Marie

Hi John, Glad to hear that you and Jude love Italy just like me. I have visited Italy every year since 2001. What I love about Toscana is the unique landscape. Have you been to San Gimignano? My last trip was in April this year and I visited Cortona….if you have seen the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” sure will reminds you of Cortona because some part was filmed in Cortona. Shareen
Welcome from another Aussie - we're from Adelaide, but travel extensively through Australia. This site was great for organising our LSL early this year. Chris n Wes

I love Tuscany too and I am just back from eight nights in San Gimignano. In fact, I just had my first cappuccino of the day from my coffee cup I bought from my favorite cafe on my last morning there a couple of weeks ago.
Hi Leslies, Hope the weather is still cold in Canberra? Here it starts getting warm, so summer is back. Good to hear that you love Tuscany just like me! Yes you cannot bet the Cappuccinos in italy. Where else you have visited in Toscana region….i know San Gimignano and been there few times. Yes I was in italy this year back in April for a month…..it is nice time to visit italy during that month as it starts spring…. I have been to italy every year since 5 years now and I believe I have seen basically whole italy except Sardinia and hope to go there soon. This time I had a chance to climb Mount Vesuvius in Naples. See the attached pic it was taken when I visited Puglia…….trulli houses in Alberobello. I find this houses very fascinating! My dream is too live in a stone house in Tuscany…..one day…. Have seen your photos…….beautiful! Regards, Shareen.
