Hi, I'm Renee. I've done a lot of traveling in the USA, and now I'm ready to conquer Europe. I want to go in March of 2008, and would like to see parts of England, France, and Italy in a ten day span. I don't know where to start, other than this awesome website. Was wondering if a first-timer is better off with a tour group? Or going it on our own? My traveling friend feels that paying $3000 USD is exorbitant for an 11-day tour group and wants to explore doing all the planning/traveling ourselves because it will be less expensive. Thoughts and opinions are appreciated!!

You will find that most of our members will try to convince you to travel... slowly.

10 days for 3 big countries sounds like a very fast pace for us. Probably concentrating on one of the countries and getting to know it well will be more rewarding. The first thing that comes to mind is that in those 10 days you will spend about half the time commuting from place to place, and seeing mostly airports and train stations.

Of course, it all depends on what your goals and interests are.
