Hello, I've been a lurker on these boards for a bit, finally signed up.
In my late 30s (about 6 years ago) I was bitten badly by the travel bug and have spent the time since either traveling, planning the next trip, or dreaming about travel.
Last month was my 1st trip to SE Asia (Thailand and Laos) which was an easy place to practice slow travel. My favorite area to explore is the Middle East, and I hope to get back there for my 3rd visit next year.
Luckily my husband shares my travel addiction. We live in Seattle with a house full of 3 large dogs. Not much else to tell--I'm looking forward to posting here instead of merely lurking.
The Middle East is a great place to take it slow and allow the different culture soak in. That's where I first realized I wanted to slow down and get to know the place instead of just hitting the highlights before rushing on to the next.
A warm welcome from your neighbors on the other side of the border in the Pac NW! I'm hoping to get to Thailand in the next few years so if you post anything about your experiences there, I will be reading them for sure. -- Janie
