Welcome...I've never welcomed anyone before so let me be the first!! Shannon Is it hot where you are - here's a little treat! Gelato

I've been reading this board a year and half ago and it has expanded my horizon in many different ways! The entire world has opened up - there are pots of interesting, intelligent and experienced travellers on this board - Not Worthy. What are your plans for the upcoming Italy/Greece trip? I was in Greece a kazillion years ago but have been rethinking a trip recently.

Welcome to Slowtrav, Must love dogs! I was a lurker for a year and a half before I registered here, because I didn't think I had anything to offer, considering the mass of fabulous information that I found on this site.
You'll find answers to all of your travel questions here, either by posting on the board or by reading through the archives on past posts and articles. Trips planned with the help of these generous folk will be wonderful...I'd say that 75 - 80% of my trips are now planned with help from Slowtrav.
What are your plans for the fall trip to Italy and Greece? Sounds like a winner to me... Wine

thanks for the warm welcome.....My upcoming trip to Greece and Italy will be for my son's destination wedding. They will be taking a cruise and we will meet in Santorini on the wedding day and then My husband and I will be going to Italy (Tuscany and Umbria) for about five days. We will be trying to do a lot in those few days. We hope to e Meeting a friend in Siena and going to the Greve wine festival. uThe festival is suppose to be starting on Friday, September 7, at 5:00pm. I found a little bit of info on this festival but some of it was conflicting on the start day and some of the info was last years....I think there was someone on this site that asked if anyone knew anything about it but no one responded. So if you know anything about it please

You'll find information here about this year's Festa del Chianti Classico in Greve. It's in Italian and I'm not sure what you want to know about it, but the tasting stands on Piazza Matteotti are open from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Friday and from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Thank you zurlina. That was a very helpful site. It helped because I just wanted to make sure it started on Friday at 5 as we will be leaving for home on Saturday. I am trying to plan an itinerary and wanted to be able to fit it in along with everyhing else we want to do.
Do you know if there a good restaurants or places to get a small bite in Greve or close by. We want to make sure that we don't get too woozie from all that wine tasting... Big Grin Wine Wine Wine Happy
