i have been on this site for years,finally registered..love to travel, hear about travel,like all of you. lived in rome, been to italy many times..feel a connection with the country.always open to a new destination. just returned from japan-met my penpal of 35 years..yes, many,many letters and our first face to face.amazing..loved africa, been blessed with many trip to europe,carbibean,and many other places. look forward to hours of enjoyable viewing,suggestions and candor .buon viaggio

Pen pal for 35 years before you met face to face? Wow! That's amazing. I'd love to hear that story someday. I had a pen pal I wasn't able to meet for 8 years, and I thought THAT was remarkable, but it doesn't hold a candle to 35 years. Anyway, welcome!

short version..a 6th grade asssignment -get to know other culutres..got a penpal,started writing..grew up,college,moves,married,moves..still writing..and had opportunity to go to japan..met her and just finished a book for her i complied from last 35 yrs plus trip..it was magical. sent teacher a postcard from japan..shes 84 now and almost died..
