Hi, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Rory and my family have owned a house in Achiltibuie, NW Scotland for 4 generations. I believe it is the most beautiful place in the world and I'd like to encourage travellers to come and visit.
I have written a blog with tourist advice for Achiltibuie, Ullapool, Lochinver, Coigach and the Summer Isles. It lists the top things to do in the area, where to eat and where to stay.

Hello Rory... the style here is to not self-promote our travel-related businesses, but to show our expertise to the Slow Travel membership, who may, then, CHOOSE to pursue our offerings. It can be a little tricky at times, but the SlowTravel members will appreciate you (and your business) that much more... WELCOME!

Hi Rory, Scotland is an under-represent country on the boards. So welcome. As Brad said, dive in and offer a lot of advice on the UK & Ireland forum. The more you participate with accurate information the more valued your participation will be to our members. I can offer a strong warning, though... SlowTrav & SlowTalk are ADDICTIVE. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the boards.

Thank you for your kind words of welcome. My purpose of starting a travel blog was to highlight a particular area of the world which I believe more people should know about. I will watch the forums with interest and post where appropriate.
