Hi all. My name is Matt and my wife Barbara and I are unabashed Italophiles. We are not newcomers to Italy, but have only recently become interested in travel message boards. I know that we will learn much and hope to make a few contributions. We have spent at least three weeks and as much as three months in Italy every year for the past fourteen and can't wait to return next spring. We started our own travel company ten years ago. I am an artist and university art professor so our groups are geared to (but not restricted to) artists. What is most important to us is to just be in Italy and experience the beauty of that wonderful country. We try to instill a sense of independence and confidence as a traveler and also respect for the culture to those who travel with us. We have rented apartments for longer stays on our own, but normally stay in hotels with our groups. My feeling is that where you stay is not nearly as important as the attitude you have when you are there. Ciao'
