I'm from Perth in Western Australia and after lurking for about a year I thought that it was time to post. This is a great forum and I've enjoyed following the Qs&As and travel reports - particularly the Italy forum. I've been to Italy a few times and our family is planning to go back at the end of next year. Slow travel suits our holiday style - we like taking our time in places to enjoy the sights, food and people.
It is great to be involved in such a friendly forum.

I just returned from a holiday in WA and I loved it. I think it is the best part of Australia but don't tell the easterners.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been following your posts for a while. Marta it sounds as though you had quite a good time travelling around the Sth West of WA. It is a pity that it is a drought year and that there weren't many wildflowers around - maybe you'll be luckier next time

...someday! I've only been to Sydney (maybe six times for a week each time) and even in the East (NSW, anyway), they're beginning to understand that WA is also a great spot.
