I just wanted to introduce myself as I dive into the Slow Travel world. I've been 'googling' about Spain, Italy, and France ever since my engagement 9 months ago. Now that we're planning our trip, I knew I'd come here and try the Slow Travel way. (France won out, by the way).
I wish I had more to contribute to SlowTrav, but I'll be learning... I guess I can bring some fairly extensive knowledge of New York, having lived there for 19 of my 23 years. That said, I haven't even looked in the North America board yet -- planning my own trip has been wild enough!
I love the aims of this community, and look forward to trying to put them in practice. I know I'll have to balance a desire to see many things with a desire to see a few things more deeply. I won't post too much more about my trip here, but if anyone wants to help with a French honeymoon, head on over to the France board.
Thanks in advance for your welcomes and advice. Bon voyage, all!

What! France won out!!??!! (oh just kidding, France is fabulous, almost as good as Italy ) Welcome to ST and we will all look forward to hearing about your plans and how they unfold.
Do I detect a hint of Yoda here??? As a mother of a Star Wars fanatic, I think of that every time I read your title It'll be fun to hear about your trip as it develops - romantic France - how could you go wrong?! Happy planning and congrats- Anne
