Ciao.
I am a 16 yr. old writer. I live in the US in a little mountain town. I hope to travel as soon as I am 18. I love watching all the tourists that come to my town, but I fear for looking and acting like them (when I start travelling). That is all I have to say in this post.

All things by immortal power
Near or far
Linked to eachother are
That thou canst
Not stir a flower
Without troubling of a star

Welcome to Slow Travel, Sarabear! We hope you will find interest here, a friendly community and an easier path to travel that Francis Thompson's!

What kind of travel would attract you, what countries (or continents)?

Welcome Sarabear! You will learn alot about travel here. It's lovely to have someone your age actively seeking information about travel. A wonderful world of adventure awaits you as you discover places all over this earth to visit. Reading what others have to share. It's a great first step in making your journey. Enjoy! Barb Cabot

Welcome Sarabear. And I love your poem at the end of your post - is it yours?

Doru-I am interested in Italy, Japan, Switzerland ... actually, pretty much everywhere.
teaberry-I love the poem, too. No, it isn't mine. I got it from a Madeline L'Engle book: Troubling A Star.

Francis Thompson, English poet who lived in the second part of the 19th century. Had a strange, wandering life which left poetry recognised mainly posthumously.

Sarabear, I see you have already started a discussion in the Italy forum, so this will continue from that discussion.

So, who wrote those lines? Madeline L'Engle or Francis Thompson?

Either one, they're beautiful thoughts.
