Hi, I've just joined this board . I first heard about slow food through a TV Program on Cheese and it all sort of followed from there.
I'm finding the older I become, the slower the travel I want to do!
I was in Italy last year, and my next goal is to spend Christmas 2008 in Venice, but instead of making rushed plans (as I can't travel this Christmas) I thought this would be the ideal spot to research
At the moment I am trying to decide whether to try a hotel or a smaller B & B type place. Having everything closed, I thought a not so personal place might be nice.
Any tips or Christmassy experiences much appreciated
Jude

I suggest that, with reference to your plans for a Christmas in Venice, or any other questions you may have, you open a new discussion, in this case in the Italy forum. Make the title of the topic as descriptive as possible; I am quite sure this may develop into a popular discussion.
Your next goal is one of my aims in life. It's at the very top of my wish list.
I've spent Christmas in Modena twice, in earlier years. I've been to Venice twice just after Christmas, and a few times in the Autumn and Spring, and once briefly in July. But Jude, I'm so excited because I am going again in six weeks!
I look forward to meeting up with you for some Venice discussions in the Italy forum. See you there!
Lucky you Leslie! I am sure you will have a wonderful time
Do you have any tips about booking/travelling during the Northern winter? It will be our first Christmas not at home, and of course the first Christmas when it hasn't been boiling hot!
ps. Thanks for the welcome guys!
