Hello everyone, Ellen S. here. I am travelling to London, my favorite city, with my parents, who have never been before. We'll do the usual things, Tower, Changing of the Guards, Notting Hill, side trip to Brighton, etc.
My question is about what clothing to pack. I've only been to London in the winter and at the height of summer. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
By the way, this was a GREAT site for my trip to Rome a year ago. Rome is also strong on the list for my favorite city. I'd like to recommend a hotel, the Hotel Montecitorio, just off the Via del Corso by the Spanish Steps. Wonderful, intimate hotel, small lobby, nice personnel, really welcoming.
I was in London -- my favorite city -- 2 weeks ago. And I was there the last week of March last year. Definitely check the weather online closer to your trip, but you should plan for variations. Last March it was much colder than usual -- I wore my winter coat almost every day. But you could have warmer spring days too. Taking outerwear/clothinig to layer is a great idea!

Hi Ellen, London's my favourite city as well! We were there late January & early April 2006. We found April just as cold as January - key was a good coat, waterproof footwear & layering!
Enjoy, Chris

We have been in London that time of the year and wearing tshirts so it can be very variable. Can I suggest you check when summer time starts and go after that - long daylight hours are a real bonus.
