Hello to all posters and visitors/lurkers, Congratulations to the site owners; this really is a FAB site with excellent info for the discerning traveller. My name is Aindre and I can't say what I do here in France as I do not wish to breech house rules. However, my other hats are that I am a Disability Equality Trainer for Inclusion DETi and an Access Consultant. I love training and get a buzz out of helping businesses corporate or local meet obligations under current Discrimination Legislation. I am not much travelled as I have always been wary of distances being a wheelchair user for the last 12 years. I love music and am trying to arrange a music festival here in the Arriege/Aude as we are on the border of both departments for 2007. I help (mostly English people) get a footing in French conversation when the arrive here. I help their children keep up to date with their written English too, as so many parents allow this to lapse. I look forward to being part of this group and hopefully make a positive contribution to the board. Best wishes to one and all. Aindre
Bonjour Andre et bienvenue a Slow Travel. You sound as though you are very well connected to music festivals and other cultural events, which many of us seek out when we are traveling. What I love about Europe is that art and culture are so integrated into everyday life, in every small town you can find concerts of good quality taking place in a church or a small theater. (In every small town you can also find outstanding pastries but that's another topic) We look forward to your expertise!
Hi Janie and Geoff, Sorry not to have replied sooner but have spent the last couple working out why I had been locked out to find that it was a simple cookie problem. In re: music anyone interested in Christmas (Yes I know it is bit away) but we have a Carol Service at Mirepoix Cathederal... a la tradition Anglaise which is supported by many English speakers and local French people. Last year was the second time and proved to be a great success.
