Awful lot of Canadians on this site! That's great. My husband and I are travelling in France next September/October. We will be in Bordeaux for a week and a half for the Rugby World Cup games that the Canadian team will play there. My husband is with the team management and he will be staying in the hotel with the team so I need to find a place for myself. Any ideas about something modest, like a studio apartment in the downtown area? Also ideas about things to do in the area? Any information will be much appreciated.

I think we are well-represented in most provinces, except in Manitoba and Saskatchewan....gotta get my farming friends on board!

My son taught in Bordeaux last year. They were staying at a theatre arts retreat and he was teaching class there for 3 weeks. They stayed at the retreat house, so I'm no help with accommodations, but there are several Slowtrav members living in France who might be able to help you.

I googled and found this rental but it is a 20 minute drive from Bordeaux City, so that might be a bit far for you. Still, the rental rate is amazing!
