Have found the website that capsulizes my longtime idea of the perfect way to travel. Interested in some suggestions for travel/cooking combo vacations in Italy and France. Would love some suggestions!!!

Hi fellow Canadian, welcome to Slow Travel.

You may find it easier to get some recommendations if you narrow things down a bit. Tell us regions you especially want to visit, your areas of interest in addition to cooking, time of year you will travel etc.

There are a number of regulars here who give cooking courses in Italy. Diva runs very popular courses in Florence, whilst Bill & Patty Sutherland run week long sessions in a Tuscan village.

For France Kaydee and her husband are very familiar with Provence and now lead small group tours. Check out The Luberon Experience

You can also use the 'FIND' button at the top of the page to search for information and reviews.

Good luck with your planning.

Welcome to Slow Travel, fellow Canuck!

As Sheena said, the best way to get info is to post your specific questions in the respective Forum, be it Italy, or France, etc. You'll be pleasantly surprised by the repsonse.

Happy holidays season!

That's what I thought as well, when I found Slowtrav in 2002...then, coward that I am, I lurked in the shadows for a year before I posted!Roll Eyes

If you browse the archived topics and read the posts by all of the other Slowtravellers who've wanted to do this kind of trip, you are going to find yourself busy reading steadily for 3 years or more Smile ...there is such an amazing conglomeration of great information here and a huge bunch of kind-hearted and generously helpful people to share their experience with you, you'll love it!

Ditto what Sheena said...post a question on the Italy section of the message board, and make it specific, if you can. You can use the FIND function, and type in anything you like, then search the archives for that subject.

Nice to meet you, Summerwind from Calgary!
