Hi, this is Michael. I found this site while planning a trip to Italy. It seems like a great community and I have already found some great suggestions for my trip. Most recently I am from Austin, TX, USA, but I am currently living in Ethiopia. Maybe that makes me an instant East Africa expert since so much here is focused on Europe. I have also travelled a good bit in Central and South America and Southeast Asia. Nice to meet you, too.

Hi Michael,

Welcome to Slowtravel. It's late and I'm ready to sign off but wanted to send you a warm welcome. I will have a look at your blog tomorrow.

Hi Michael,

It's fantastic to have someone who knows about Africa by living there.

Wow! Ethiopia!

Hi Michael, I'm watching my Africa webcam and have a big herd of zebras in front of me. It's just fascinating.

Oh - just came back from doing some housework and the webcam has shifted back to the waterhole for a while. I've seen elephants, monkeys, gazelles, wildebeests and lot more in the past month.

I work with a teacher from Botswana and my neighbour is from Africa and is going back there this year for a holiday.

Oh, and my father and one of my sisters were born in Austin. Big Grin

Thanks everyone.

Ethiopia is a great place to travel. Your only option is slow though really. It takes some patience and the languages are really difficult.

Leslie, the webcam is nice, it even streams well over my low bandwidth connection. I have a Canberra connection as well. I will email you, so if you see some weird address with scrambled in it, it is not spam.
