We are a New Zealand family living in England for 2 years to experience life in the Northern Hemisphere and enjoy some Europe slow travel. I discovered this site while searching for info on a possible 2week trip to Andalucia in Dec/Jan. I love slow travel as it allows us to experience more of the real life of an area (I know I am speaking to converts of this type of travel...) and I love the web site!

Welcome Amanda!
Great to have a Kiwi aboard. There aren't enough of you here.
Where in New Zealand do you call home? We have one member (AnG) who posts ocassionally from Wellington.
New Zealand is on our short list for the next few years of travel planning. So when we get serious, I hope to find you on the Rest of the World board.

In a previous life I was an Umbrian sunflower farmer. I want to do a past life regression and stay there.

We had a farm in Central Southland where my parents still live, but we now call home Central Otago (Cromwell to be precise). Cromwell is close to Queenstown which is the adventure capital of NZ, but we prefer to stick to the quieter areas enjoying the walking, biking, skiing, lake and wine area. We are currently living in Basingstoke, Hampshire, UK and are enjoying being able to travel to such a variety of places easily. We spent last weekend in Paris in an apartment and loved visiting the supermarket, bakery and all the little local shops.
It is great to be part of this 'community of travellers' and I love reading all the reviews and ideas. We are just starting to look toward Christmas and think we have decided on a real winter Christmas and may even head to Scandinavia so I am looking forward to researching that.
