Hi Everyone,

I am new to this group and so excited! My fiance and I are getting married in Italy in May. We plan to stay and honeymoon for a month. I have been to Italy before, on three separate occasions, but my fiance has never been...he's totally trusting me on this one, I think he'll be pleased.

Anyway, we are planning on getting married in Varenna, so we will fly into Milan and camp-out in Varenna for a little more than a week at Villa Cipressi. I've been to Varenna once, but haven't stayed at Villa Cipressi before. I also have only been to the towns very close to Varenna like Bellagio, Mennagio, etc. I am looking forward to visiting Milan and Como from there.

The day after the wedding we are driving to Nizza Monferrato in Piedmont to stay for about six days at Cascina Christiana. I have never been to Piedmont before, so I would really like some ideas. Aqui Terme sounds nice, but I am sucker for hot springs.

From Piedmont we are driving to Soriano nel Cimino in Lazio to stay for seven days at Palazzo Catalini. Another place I have never been, so please send some ideas my way. I was contemplating, spending one night near Florence on the way from Piedmont to Lazio in order to break up the drive, but also so we could spend a day in Florence. I don't want to go into Florence with a car, so I was thinking of staying the night in Fiesole and possibly taking the bus into Florence or something like that. Do you think that is a good idea?

From Lazio, we will drive to Naples, drop off the car (Yikes! I am scared about driving into Naples, but I mapquested it and it will be .5 miles off the freeway at Girabaldi train station, so I am willing to risk it)and take a boat to Capri. Anacapri (B&B Monte Solaro) is where we will stay for about six days before taking a train to Rome. We will stay in an apartment in Rome near Piazza Navona for three nights and then fly home from there.

We have all of our accomodations booked, with the exception of a place near Florence.

I welcome any ideas/itineraries for the various places we plan to visit. Here is a general idea of what we like to do together: My fiance and I like to eat good food, drink good wine, we like to hike, swim in the ocean, walk around and explore. I personally like art, architecture, historical sites, villas and gardens, but I don't think my fiance is as excited by that stuff (although you never know)so I don't want to rely on my interests when planning our main activities.

Thanks!

We have an Italy forum where you can post as well. I think you'll get much more replies to your question there.
