Hi Mercedespony, Welcome to Slow Travel. I love St Jacobs. Whenever we are in Toronto we try to make a trip oot to St Jacobs to visit Artefacts, which is one of my favourite stores!

Hi mercedespony Welcome to the board. I in Burlington, it is so nice to see another 'Ontarioan' here. I went to the University of Waterloo and certainly grew to love St Jacobs and the awesome markets there (well, the one isn't so awesome any more). We still make the trek up there about once a month to visit our old haunts! You'll find a wealth of information here. Last year when planning our fall trip to Italy for three weeks the best advice came form this board. Enjoy,

Hi, I live approximately 40 miles South-West of Ottawa - looks like we're getting most of Southern Ontario covered. I've been on ST almost 2 years now. It's a great resource. We've been to the Caribbean a few times, but likely never again. Europe is way too interesting. I'm sure your husband will come around and be as enthusiastic as you. Good planning and great travels! And be sure to share your experiences when you return.

Hi Mercedespony! Apparently i have to make my way to St Jacobs! One day my aeroplan miles will get me there...I have a friend who just moved from Waterloo area to...WINNIPEG! Poor girl! (just joking)When she moves back i must come there. Anyways...i am sure your husband will like the trip. It is great that both of you are on the same idea about what types of accomodations you like to stay at for starters. It sounds like you have a similar desire for a bit of adventure. So far i am doing most of my planning around what i am reading on ST. Hopefully I will eventually get through my travel book...but the typing is so small!!!

Don't forget to go to San Marino. It is like a seperate country within a country. They sell gold real cheap there.

Hi Mercedes, I think the advice to "Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see", may apply here.
