Hello everybody,
I am from Italy, but I have not been back in 20 years. I will be going there early spring for 2 1/2 weeks, with my son and my daughter-in-law. We are planning a trip to Milano - La Spezia - Firenze- Venezia. We will be visiting relatives, but also doing the 'tourist' thing. This site is a treasure trove of information. I will be posting questions to the main forum as well. It has been so long since I was in Italy, I don't know about the best places to go anymore!

I bet you'll have a great time on your trip. I've stayed in Firenze, Milano and Venezia - but only had a brief look at La Spezia as I went through it on my most recent trip. The towns around it are breathtaking - Portovenere, Lerici...

On past trips I have had the "visiting relatives" experiences too - we always have great Italy trips, either doing that, or seeing the sights.
