I love this site, thank-you for your great tips! Planning a trip for September. Starting with our kids in the Netherlands and Paris for 2wks. Kids (yg adults) choice for their first trip to Europe, once they're back on the plane - We're off to Italy for 2 weeks! Two years ago we had the great pleasure of spending 2wks between Florence, Greve, and Venice. I would be content to spend the rest of my life in Tuscany, however my sweetheart wants to experience more of the country. What's your favorite destination in Italy?
Thanks!
Momcat

Mommacat, welcome to Slowtrav!
Yes, this is an amazing site, isn't it? I found it a few years ago and by participating in the generous and kindly ebb and flow of the conversations here on Slowtalk, I gained the courage to make my first ever trip to Italy and France!
You've already been bitten by the TravelItaly bug, I think! Sounds like a wonderful trip you've planned with your family!
My favorite location(s) in the parts of Italy that I've been to would have to be Florence, Cortona, Venice and Santarcangelo, in no particular order. If someone offered to send me back for a month to one location at no cost to me, I'd be stuck choosing which one!

Hello Mommacat! Welcome to SlowTalk...everyone here is fabulous...very kind and helpful!
We'll be in Italy for most of September. Sorrento, Rome, Tuscany and the Veneto. I can't wait! Whereabouts will you be?

Hi Mommacat,

We like the Val d'Orcia - beautiful in itself and also convenient to seeing other parts of Tuscany. See my Tuscan Rambles Trip Report below - might be of some help.

Others will have their favourites - and they're right, too.

Be sure to post more questions on the Italy board.

Welcome Mommacat!
The kids are going to love Europe! I was introduced to Europe on a school trip when I was 15 years old and it left quite the impression on my mind.
You will find wonderful info on this site! I too am going to Italy in september for the first time and i can't wait! Good luck with the plans.

Thanks for all of your great suggestions! Our goal this weekend is to explore the places you have suggested via the internet and make decisions about where we are going. We were only in Venice 1 night last time around and we've agreed to start our time in Italy there this time. Thanks aagain!
