I hope I'm posting in the right area for new members. So the first thing I can say about myself is I'm a technophobe.

I live in New York and travel frequently to France, and I'll mostly be posting in the France section. I've done several Paris apartment rentals (so I can perhaps be of help there), and I've rented my first country house in Languedoc for the last half of August.

Again, i hope I've posted int he right area.

Welcome, Karen!

You are indeed posting in the right area. (And we are a pretty forgiving bunch, so you get to make one mistake before the virtual shotgun tracks you down. Wink)

Quite a few of us who post here regularly are from the NY/NJ area. Hope we will get a chance to meet you soon at a GTG (Get ToGether).

That would be great. And is there a way to edit on this board? As you can see, I'm not the world's greatest typist. Oh, I just figured it out. That button at the bottom.

Welcome to Slowtrav, Karen Wine
I want to hear about your apartment rentals in Paris, please! I rented a really gorgeous place in the 18th Arr., a little far out for me, but still a beautiful neighbourhood and great bus and metro transportation to anywhere I wanted to go. Frenchy Rentals now represents the owners of this very lovely place... here's the apartment.

Yes, that little edit button saves my butt more than a few times a week, here on the message board. It took me a while to figure that out, and also to find the solution to posting a web link without typing the entire address letter by letter and symbol by symbol... Blushing

Sounds like you have a lot to share and we'll be so delighted to hear about your travels, Karen!

Welcome to Slow Travel, Karen, and we look forward to your posts and reviews on France, and elsewhere.

That Edit button is useful for about one hour from the time of the post you wish to edit. After that, you can use the Alert button (the triangle with an exclamation mark) and a window will open, which will allow you to alert one of the Moderators to what changes you wish made in your post. We roam all the time all over the place here and we will be aware of your request.
