I have noticed there is practically no write-up available on Rajasthan, a prime Indian destination, well appreciated by all American travelers to India. So as my first contribution, I introduce this unique area to the viewers.
a. Rajasthan offers a variety of destinations replete with history & culture. Each palace hotel has a history of it’s own, the forts perched up on rocky cliffs & marked by shell-shots, some unique battle-fort hotels offering luxurious hospitality & fine dining. The Rajputs, a warrior caste, lived a life on the edge, something very akin to the Texan cowboy.
b. Some temples in Rajasthan take you back at least a 1000 yrs., each an embodiment of mathematics, geometry & astronomy. The sculptures on their walls & each stone in itself, a temple in miniature. These temples were built in strict nomenclature going back to nearly 3000 years, but within the parameters, the secular artist has woven memorable scenes that are contemporary, cultural & romantic.
c. The Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is teeming with wildlife. The possibility of seeing a tiger, though a matter of chance, for the master predator keeps himself concealed, increase as the vegetation is comparatively sparse. India also offers the Corbett Park, north-east of Delhi with basic accommodation with in & you go off to sleep listening to the calls of the jungle folk. It is simply bewitching as you can trace the imaginative path of a carnivore from the alarm calls made by the animals. Corbett, both buffer & core areas, criss-crossed by the Ramganga, Mandal & Kosi valleys, home to almost 500 most colourful species. Some of these birds, which are on the list of highly endangered species, like the Ferruginous Pochard, Spot-Billed Eagle Owl, Tawny Fish Owl, Wood Snipe, Long Billed Plover, Black-Bellied Tern, Palla’s Fish Eagle, Pallied Harrier, Imperial Eagle, Red-Necked Falcon etc.
The Infinity Resort, in the buffer area, just outside the park locates on the river Kosi. It could be your luxurious destination for a few days sojourn!

I was in Rajasthan ten years ago and found it a very interesting area of the world to visit. We were only there for a few weeks but I found my time there to be wonderful and rich. The markets and stores are so colourful, full of incredible goods at fair prices. The food was exotic and tasty and the people very friendly, hard working and intelligent. Welcome to the board!
