Hi! I'm a Dutch girl from Amsterdam, looking for people from The Netherlands who have been 'slowtraveling' before, for some advice in Dutch. Hope I will find them here! Thanks!
Hi, Yara, I don't know if you will find the Dutch language used much here, but I for one am very happy to welcome you to Slow Travel and am a big fan of your country. My very dear friend Natasja who lives here in Piedmont and her husband Ed came from Holland and have renovated a beautiful property. Talking with her has made me want to learn your language. But I have to finish learning Italian verb forms first!!
Rob and I are very big fans of the people from Holland. We have made many friends over the years by traveling by ship with Holland America - our line of choice. We also met a wonderful couple while in Castelina in Chianti a couple of years ago. They travel to Tuscany once or twice a year. They aren't part of SlowTrav, but do travel slowly. Maybe Gerdien and Tiny will join our group, here.
Anyway, welcome and enjoy yourself here.
Yours,
Wendy and Rob

Yara, I don't think we've had many Dutch members, but we would love to hear from you about travel in the Netherlands! I'm taking my first trip to Amsterdam this month.
One of us is Dutch so we may be able to help. What are your questions? BTW can some one here confirm if you can only post in English on this forum or can you use any native language?
Welcome aboard.Letizia's husband Ruurd is also Dutch. Check out their Madonna del Piatto guest inn and cooking classes near Assisi. We have many visitors from Holland who take holidays here in central Italy and then decide to buy vacation homes.....they like the landscape (and the food, and the wine and olive oil ) so different from the Netherlands.

These forums are English only, except on the specific "Language Talk" (French, Italian, Spanish) forums.
If you post in a language other than English, please include an English translation so all our readers can understand the information.
